The United Kingdom is outside the EU customs union, so a unit that remains in the UK is cleared for UK import and any UK VAT and duty is settled by your customs agent. Depot units can be inspected at the depot by appointment before release. For gate-buy units you receive the unit numbers and the vessel details in advance, and the units are new-build one-trip with CSC plates.
